The Artist (What I Feel Now), is an abstract self-portrait which commemorates how I feel about reaching fifty and how my body/mind is changing with age. Most days I feel like everything is out of place (Dali's melting watches spring to mind) and I need to remain fluid in order in to navigate the world around me and the chaos within myself. Nothing is where it was and what I feel now may or may not be how I'll feel in the future. It's a celebration of fragmentation, but of flexibility to rise to the challenges that time offers. 24x30 inches, acrylic on canvas.
