When I photographed this crowned prince at Royal Roads University, he was not a king yet, but a majestic juvenile who deserved a royal portrait. Peacocks are beautiful creatures that provoke a sense of wonder, which in turn, reminded me of why I enjoy painting – to immerse the audience in a magical experience. Using jewel tone colors, metallic blue/green and gold, I have created a memorable portrait full of vibrant, regal energy. 24x36 inches, acrylic on deep canvas.
